We are seeking a creative, organized, and detail-oriented team player to contribute to the growth and profitability of our company. This individual will provide support and service to our underwriting team, resulting in a “WOW” experience for our insurance clients. The Underwriting Assistant will put our clients’ needs first with creative strategies and solutions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Enter, maintain and update client as well as physician information in database
•  Obtain Attending Physician Statements (APS)
•  Prepare and review insurance applications with direction and supervision from the underwriter
•  Review policies for accuracy, scan same to our client database
•  Support our underwriters’ efforts in obtaining insurance coverage for our clients
•  Follows all department policies, procedures and processes to ensure a client “WOW” experience

REQUIREMENTS

• Remarkable communication skills as our underwriting team converses with our clients both on the phone and in person
• Self-motivated to follow-up and follow-through on all tasks
• Thirst for learning; curiosity about life insurance, estate planning and all the other variety of services we offer at Schechter
• Enthusiasm towards process improvement
• Ability to take responsibility and embrace the accountability of the role
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Discretion/confidentiality a must in this position
• 3 years administrative experience in related field, life insurance preferably
• Education: High School Diploma
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
