Amy Barker
Amy Barker is the Courier/Office Assistant. Her responsibilities include delivering and picking up documents for signatures, ordering and replacing essential goods for the kitchen and office, mail pick-up, errands that are required during daily operations, and assisting the receptionist with the phones and daily office tasks.
Before working at Schechter, Amy worked for the Plymouth-Canton School District as a Special Education Paraprofessional for disabled adults 18 – 26 years old in a transition program designed to teach life skills, job skills, and daily living skills. Prior to that she has worked in the purchasing department in the steel and plastics industry.
Amy is the Assistant Director of a non-profit organization that serves adults with disabilities ages 16 – 64 years old. She enjoys teaching daily life skills, social skills, vocational training, and recreational skills. When Amy is not working, she enjoys weekend getaways, walking, outdoor activities, and spending time with family and friends.
