With nearly 20 years of legal and financial services industry experience, Brian Young brings an impressive range of skills to his role as Wealth Advisor at Schechter. As an attorney, he assisted individual clients and business owners with critical business and financial management needs. As a wealth advisor, Brian has developed a focus working with high-net-worth clients, physicians and business owners, providing investment and insurance-based solutions including estate planning, and advanced life insurance design.
Prior to joining Schechter, Brian was a successful financial professional and director at Northwestern Mutual in Troy, MI, where he also helped high-net-worth individuals and businesses. Additionally, Brian directed and motivated other financial representatives as a member of Northwestern Mutual’s leadership team. Prior to Northwestern Mutual, Brian worked several years as an attorney at Bodman, PLC, a Detroit-based law firm.
Brian earned his B.A. in psychology at The University of Michigan. He later earned his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School.
Brian serves as a board member for the Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance and is active with other non-profit organizations. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan.
Brian is a competitive tennis player and triathlete. He regularly competes in Ironman triathlon events, recently achieving Ironman “All World Athlete” status by finishing in the top 10 percent for his age group in 2014.
Brian lives in West Bloomfield, Michigan with his wife Marla, their two boys, Ari and Levi, and their two beloved bulldogs, Minnie and Jack.
