Eric Swanson

Eric Swanson serves as Vice President of Business Development, Institutional Partnerships, at Schechter Wealth, where he plays a key role in advancing the firm’s mission to deliver sophisticated insurance and financial strategies to high-net-worth individuals, families, and institutions.

With more than 20 years of experience spanning insurance, financial services, and insurtech, Eric offers a rare blend of strategic insight and technical expertise. His career has included leadership roles at both major institutions and boutique firms—including Lion Street, Protective, and The Hartford—where he specialized in distribution, planning, and relationship management.

Eric is known for building lasting, trust-driven partnerships with advisors, attorneys, CPAs, and family offices. He works closely with these professionals to integrate advanced insurance solutions into complex wealth plans, ensuring clients receive tailored, high-impact strategies.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Augsburg University and is a Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) through the American College of Financial Services.

Based in Austin, Texas, Eric lives with his wife and their two spirited Goldendoodles. Their home occasionally becomes a hub of activity when their college-age children return. Outside of work, Eric enjoys traveling, writing original novels, and is currently teaching himself to play chess—slowly but surely.
