Joseph Drozd, Jr., CFA® is a Senior Investment Advisor providing financial planning and support to our clients with a unique and deep expertise in alternatives and private capital investments. He is an accomplished and knowledgeable financial professional and plays a significant role in uncovering investment opportunities and enhancing the Schechter investment architecture. Joe has earned the designation of Certified Financial Analyst® (CFA).
Joe is an accomplished and entrepreneurial portfolio manager and family office professional with over 12 years of experience in the investment space. He has a successful track record deploying capital into private capital, direct, traditional, real estate, hedge funds, and alternative investments. He brings to our clients, superior analytical skills and experience working with family offices, pensions, and endowments. He will also support internal teams by sourcing, performing due diligence, and delivering subject matter expertise for unique, esoteric, and new investment opportunities and asset classes.
Most recently Joe was the Director of Strategic initiatives and Investor Relations at Delta Capital Partners, Chicago, where he worked with the CEO on strategic planning and the enhancement of the investment process. Prior to that, he was the director of Strategy and Marketing with an investment management company in Chicago and also spent 6 years with a prominent multi-family office where he was focused on alternative investments. He began his career with one of the world’s largest investment consulting firms researching private equity managers and hedge funds.
Joe went to the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and was an Evans Scholar Recipient. He is born and raised in Chicago and is proud of his family that have served as firefighters in the Windy City for three generations. He lives in the Windy City with his wonderful and patient fiancé Haley and their two corgi puppies, Carl and Phoebe. A caddy from the age of 12, Joe is an avid golfer and supporter of the Evans Scholarship Foundation, always working to keep his IRRs above his handicap.
