Schechter is looking for an Associate Advisor to join the team and provide support to other advisors in serving our clients investment management and financial planning needs. This is an ideal role for someone looking to transition into an advisory role without pressure to find new clients. The ideal team member is committed to service – not only to our clients, but also to other team members. Your “we first, not me first” attitude will serve you well here. Are you ok with frequent change? This is a fast-paced role that has lots of moving parts coming at you, and flexibility is the name of the game. Ultimately, we want you to learn the business. This means that you’ll take direction well, and you will be independent enough to want to apply your learning to growing your own client base (down the road) and thriving as an advisor.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Serving as a key point of contact for the firm’s clients, providing financial reviews and annual investment evaluations
  • Corresponding with prospects and clients via email, phone, virtual meetings, other
  • Developing and maintaining documentation of all prospect and client activity, monitoring new business
  • Staying in regular contact with the lead advisor and team members, keeping apprised of progress and areas of opportunity
  • Assisting with research and development, preparing presentations to prospects and clients
  • Updating and maintaining various databases for client relationship management and to organize client records and case files
  • Assist in other lines of business, including life insurance, and private capital, as needed.
  • Other as necessary

EXPERIENCE:

  • Some experience as either a financial services professional (preferred, not required), or undergraduate experience in business or a financial internship or co-operative program
  • FINRA Series 6 or 7, 63, (and 65 if part of a Registered Investment Advisory firm) is a plus, not required until obtained on the job
  • Life and health insurance license is a plus, not required until obtained on the job
  • Previous sales experience is helpful

  • Proficient with MS Office
