Insights into Private Equity Secondaries

Part of An Education Series for Ultra-High-Net-Worth Investors on Alternative Investments

Welcome to an exclusive journey into the world of alternative assets, beginning with an educational series on private equity on January 18th.

Private equity has the potential for substantial returns and growth, and can be coupled with other alternative asset classes to add diversification to a more traditional portfolio of stocks and bonds.

Ultra-high-net-worth investors typically access the private equity asset class through a fund that is broadly diversified across a number of companies.

What is Private Equity?

Private equity funds invest in privately owned businesses that are not traded on the stock market. Though a fund, investors can acquire ownership stakes in companies that are generally smaller than their publicly traded counterparts.

These investments often involve industries that are not readily accessible in public markets. By focusing on businesses beyond the stock exchange, private equity funds provide an avenue for investors to support the growth of companies in sectors that may not be well-represented in public markets.

Qualified Purchaser

While funds vary in their requirements, many funds require investors to be a Qualified Purchaser. An individual must have at least $5 million in investable assets to be a Qualified Purchaser.
