Cliffwater is an alternative investment focused firm founded in 2004 with over 130 employees across the country. Across their asset management and advisory business, Cliffwater manages/advises on $98 billion of assets, exclusively focused on alternatives. The firm oversees approximately $35 billion in private debt, $37 billion in private equity, and $17 billion in real assets. Their flagship Corporate Lending Fund has grown to be the largest interval fund globally with over $15 billion in assets under management.
Joining us from Cliffwater will be Philip Hasbrouck, co-head of Cliffwater’s asset management business, and Caitlin Nemeth, portfolio manager for the Cliffwater Corporate Lending Fund.

Caitlin Nemeth
Portfolio Manager
Caitlin is a portfolio manager for the Cliffwater Corporate Lending Fund and is a member of the credit research and investment team. In this role, she is responsible for many facets of the fund’s product strategy, including new program development, cultivating manager relationships, investment and co-investment selection and structuring. Prior to joining Cliffwater in 2021, Caitlin spent over a decade at Antares Capital and its predecessor GE Capital, where she was responsible for structuring, underwriting, and managing sponsored transactions. Caitlin earned a B.B.A. in Finance, Investments, and Banking from University of Wisconsin - Madison.
Philip Hasbrouck
Senior Managing Director
Philip is the co-head of Cliffwater’s asset management business. In this role, Philip leads the firm’s asset management distribution efforts and is involved with product development and positioning, business development, and managing client relationships. Prior to joining Cliffwater in 2018, Philip held various positions with CAIS, TCW Group, and J.P. Morgan. He earned a BS in Commerce and Finance from Santa Clara University.

In his role as CIO, Aaron oversees investment strategy selection within our investment advisory business. He also works with high-net-worth families across the country on investment portfolio construction, asset allocation, and manager selection.
Prior to joining Schechter, Aaron worked at BlackRock Financial Management, in New York, in the Institutional Account Management group where he helped manage relationships with institutional investors including pension funds, foundations & endowments, and family offices. While there, he specialized in custom fixed-income solutions, commodities, and hedge funds. Aaron graduated from the University of Michigan, where he majored in economics and played lacrosse.
He is currently on the Board of Directors of BM Technologies, Inc and is a member of the CAIS Advisory Council.
