Investment Operations Associate

Manage trade submissions, confirmations, and documentation. Assist in maintaining data presented across the Investment Technology platform to provide clients and internal users with a current and accurate financial picture.

  • Perform timely and accurate execution of trades as submitted by financial advisors and client service professionals. 
  • Maintain accurate records of trades and financial data for reporting purposes. Audits and verifies trade records to ensure trades are compliant with regulations and company policy.
  • Maintain Black Diamond data, including but not limited to new account set up, data audits, account reconciliation and manual values related to external holdings within Black Diamond as well as alternative investments.
  • Assist in client onboarding, user creating, site navigation, and troubleshooting.
  • Prepare reports and make changes as requested.
  • New Advisor and Family Office Client onboarding.
  • Assist with data sourcing, input, and auditing.
  • Assist firm users with site navigation / troubleshooting.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the organization.

Required education and experience

  •  Associate degree or combination of 1-3 years of relevant work experience and schooling, concentration in accounting, finance, economics, or mathematics.
  • 1+ year experience in trading or investment operations.
  • Knowledge of investment performance calculations including IRR, TWR, accrued interest, yield, amortization, duration.
  • Ability to reconcile and troubleshoot all relevant calculations, such as cost basis, and gain/loss, and understanding of transaction formats and fields.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize competing deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate issues clearly and succinctly to coworkers, custodians, and vendors as needed.
  • Proficient with MS Office products, especially Excel and report writing experience.

Preferred education and experience

  • Familiarity with portfolio accounting such as Black Diamond, Orion, Tamarac, or Portfolio Center
  • Knowledge of alternative investments, such as hedge funds, private equity and similar investment vehicles
